Ian Nairn was an RAF pilot and architectural critic who made over 30 films for the BBC during the 1960s and 1970s. He was known for his intense dislike of drab, suburban architecture and unimaginative town planning, and would go on to write strongly-worded critiques of both London and Paris' regenerative directions.
