On this day in 2020, we lost legendary outlaw Billy Joe Shaver. Here we celebrate his memory with this video of him singing his song “Old Chunk of Coal” that many people remember being sung by John Anderson. On a side note, Shaver was great friends with comedian Norm Macdonald, who often referred to himself as an “old chunk of coal” having been inspired by the song.
