Recently, our Mammoth Creek Hatchery began harvesting eggs from Bonneville and Colorado River cutthroat trout brood. The males and females are first sorted and separated. Then, the females are checked for ripeness to ensure they are ready to release their eggs. Harvested eggs from 10 females at a time are then combined with milt from 10 males.
