Our Zoo Teen program is a unique year-round mentorship for teens in grades 8–12 who are passionate about animals, the environment and zoo careers. Teens progress through different ranks each year (starting as a Rookie!) and gain hands-on experience in animal care and education. Elephants spend a major portion of their lives on their feet. 🐘 That’s a lot of weight for their feet to support! Our keepers provide routine foot care, using special tools, to keep our elephants’ feet healthy. Healthy feet play a key role in supporting their overall well-being.
