The firms "N. Currier" and "Currier & Ives" issued more than 7,000 different print titles during their history. Numerous reprints, copies and forgeries have been produced in the years since the firm closed, making Currier & Ives lithographs some of the most reproduced images in history.

Oct 22, 2009 · In 1932 a jury of twelve Currier & Ives experts and collectors selected a group of what they considered to be the "Best 50" large folio Currier & Ives prints. For fifty days running, these prints were illustrated and described in the New York Sun.

Mar 26, 2013 · George Henry Durrie (June 6, 1820-Oct. 15, 1863) was indeed the original artist for 10 of the most popular Currier and Ives prints, including this one, all but one being winter scenes. Four prints based on his originals were published between 1860 and his death, with the remaining six issued posthumously.
