Together, these systems, known as acequias, enabled the missions to thrive and determined settlement patterns.

Acequia Park is located in the city of San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas. There are picnic tables and restrooms, but alcohol is not allowed in the park. The paved Mission Hike & Bike Riverwalk Trail and the gravel Acequia Trail pass through the park and you can follow them to the missions (about 1.5 miles one-way to either, see San Antonio Missions National Historic Park).
