Rudolph Giuliani’s lawyers are walking away from the former New York City mayor’s legal battle against a $146 million defamation judgment held by two 2020 election workers.

Attorneys representing former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani filed motions Wednesday to withdraw from a defamation case brought by two former Fulton County election workers.

It appears that Rudy Giuliani’s attorneys no longer want to represent him in his $148 million defamation judgement he owes two Fulton County election workers. On Wednesday, Kenneth Caruso filed a motion to have him and fellow attorney David Labkowski removed over a “fundamental disagreement” with their client.

A representative for Rudy Giuliani says the former New York City mayor is relinquishing his cherished watches ahead of a Friday deadline to turn over his assets to two former Georgia election workers who won a $148 million defamation judgment against him.

New York — Two attorneys representing Rudy Giuliani in a lawsuit related to a $148 million defamation judgment against him have asked a judge to remove them from the case over disagreements with the former New York City mayor.

"A lawyer may withdraw from representing a client when: . . . (4) the client insistsupon taking action with which the lawyer has a fundamental disagreement; . . . (6)the client insists upon presenting a claim or defense that is not warranted underexisting law and cannot be supported by good faith argument for an extension,

Rudolph W. Giuliani’s lawyers asked a federal judge on Wednesday for permission to withdraw as his counsel, citing unspecified professional ethics issues related to Mr. Giuliani’s turning over assets to two women he defamed in 2020.

The lawyers who have been representing Rudy Giuliani are trying to quit his debt enforcement case because of disagreements with him, according to new court filings, as a Friday deadline nears for the former New York City mayor to turn over many of his most valuable possessions to two Georgia election workers to whom he owes nearly $150 million.
