Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has left the door open for Chelsea with regards to a future deal for Jamie Gittens. Chelsea were in talks to sign Gittens in time to be registered in their squad for the Club World Cup tournament which gets underway in the USA this weekend.

Chelsea are looking at signing a top prospect in the shape of Gittens, but there is reason to suggest that Chelsea should tread carefully here. Indeed, signing players from the Bundesliga can be a dangerous game, especially from Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has said the club "looked very seriously" at an offer from Chelsea for winger Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea are continuing to pursue a deal for Jamie Gittens despite Borussia Dortmund holding out for a fee in the region of £40 million ($54.3m), sources have told ESPN.
