The Arizona Diamondbacks battle the Pittsburgh Pirates in the final game of their 3-game series Sunday afternoon at PNC Park.

The club continued what is expected to be a considerable sell-off at the MLB trade deadline by sending outfielder Randal Grichuk to the Kansas City Royals, according to MLB.com's Steve Gilbert. Reportedly going back to the D-backs is relief prospect Andrew Hoffman.

As part of the deal, the Royals sent minor league reliever Andrew Hoffman to the Diamondbacks. Why this trade could be a risk is Hoffman is an arm that could turn into a decent reliever in MLB. This season, Hoffman has a 2.25 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. He also has 55 strikeouts and two saves.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been an active team at the MLB trade deadline, and Merrill Kelly or Zac Gallen could be the next to leave.

The Royals have spent weeks scouring the trade market for an outfield bat to add to their starting lineup. On Saturday, several days ahead of the Major League Baseball trade deadline, they found their guy: The Royals acquired Randal Grichuk from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for a young relief pitcher.

The New York Yankees have added another infield reinforcement at the MLB trade deadline. The club swung a trade with the Washington Nationals on Saturday for utility infielder Amed Rosario, it announced Saturday. Going back to D.C. are pitcher Clayton Beeter and outfielder Browm Martínez.

The Wildcats had a busy MLB Draft with nine players selected over all and that includes Mason White, who has been selected by the Boston Red Sox in the fourth r
