National Hurricane Center tracking Tropical Storm Erin. See spaghetti models, Florida impact
The hatched areas on the National Hurricane Center's tropical outlook map indicate "areas where a tropical cyclone — which could be a tropical depression, tropical storm or hurricane — could develop," said National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rhome.
Tropical Storm Erin is likely to become a hurricane in the next 48 hours, according to the National Hurricane Center on Aug. 12.
As of the latest advisory on Aug. 11, Invest 97L has a high chance — 90% — chance of strengthening in the next seven days.
