Republicans have won enough seats to control the U.S. House, completing the party’s sweep into power and securing their hold on U.S. government alongside President-elect Donald Trump.

The GOP sealed a majority in the lower chamber of Congress although their final margin will be surprisingly narrow given Trump’s broad victory.

With this latest victory, Republicans now control all three branches of the government - the House, the Senate, and the White House.
