The Los Angeles Lakers are set to have a busy offseason, but the biggest question lingering over the franchise is the future of LeBron James. He’s fresh off another All-NBA season, but he’s 40 and has already given 22 years to the NBA.

On Tuesday, James made a major statement about his future with the Lakers and in the NBA while speaking with the Associated Press’ Jonathan Landrum Jr. “I have a lot of time to take care of my injury, my knee, the rest of my body and make sure I’m as close to 100% as possible when training camp begins in late September,” James said.

James will be entering year 23 of his NBA career, but he is still playing at a very high level. Last season, the former league MVP averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.
