Texas House Democrats signaled Thursday they will likely return to the state for a second special on redistricting and “take this fight to the courts” after the Legislature adjourns the current session on Friday as planned.

If those conditions are met, the Texas House Democratic Caucus said Democratic lawmakers will return to the Texas House.

Democratic state lawmakers who fled Texas say they’d be open to returning under certain conditions after leaving 10 days ago to block controversial new congressional maps backed by President Donald Trump.
