Microplastics – pieces of plastic less than 5 millimeters – were found in 55 juvenile northern hogsucker fish in tributaries of the Cheat, Ohio and Monongahela Rivers.

Several other states are also facing new scrutiny as the U.S. Department of Justice refocuses election-law enforcement.
