As the nation awaits the winner of the $600 million Powerball lottery jackpot, someone in California may be $80,000 richer.
The current jackpot is estimated to be worth $526 million, with a cash value of $241 million, according to Powerball.com. The next drawing is on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

A lucky New York Lottery player from Queens claimed a $100,000 prize after matching four numbers and the Powerball on a ticket with Powerplay, purchased at a deli in Elmhurst. The ticket was for the July 20 Powerball drawing and was sold at Roxy Deli & Grocery,
The six-figure winning ticket was sold prior to Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, according to the release. The Powerball ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven convenience store/gas station at 4091 Moore Duncan Highway in the Moore area of Spartanburg County, officials said.
