Four minors were caught subway surfing in the Bronx by an NYPD drone, showing them on top of a moving train before being apprehended at Parkchester station.

NEW YORK — New York City’s subway system was fully operational for the Tuesday morning commute, however some roads remained closed in sections of New York and New Jersey after heavy rain swept across the U.S. Northeast overnight, causing flash floods.

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Shocking video showed water rushing into the subway system in Manhattan during Monday night's downpours. Video captured by an eyewitness at 23rd Street and 28th Street on the number 1 train line showed the water even rushing into the subway car as riders stood on the seats to avoid the water.

So far this year, the number of people riding the subway is up 8% since last year and has risen 31% compared to 2022.
