The Metal Gear Solid storyline is set in 2005, when the Outlander was establishing itself in the SUV marketplace. The subsequent Metal Gear Solid titles (2007-2014) unfold alongside the Outlander's continued development, with the third generation launching in 2012.

The SUV concept will premiere at the Tokyo Auto Salon, alongside modified versions of the Triton pickup and the Delica D:5 minivan

Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi let loose some details on no less than seven custom vehicles it will be showing at the Tokyo Auto Show later this week

Mitsubishi also has several other custom vehicles for this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, including several Tritons and Delica vans.
