Back in the good ol’ days of Survivor, the current players would walk into Tribal Council and take a seat. Then, and only then, host Jeff Probst would welcome the jury members to strut in and take their seats.

The show’s creators set the parameters, they throw in some advantages and twists, and they let the players run the game from there. The rules can even be bent on occasion if the castaways want to negotiate for resources.
