A former UPMC doctor accused of trying to kill his wife while they were hiking along a trail in Hawaii pleaded not guilty in court Monday to a charge of attempted murder. WTAE reported that Gerhardt Konig, 46, appeared for the hearing via video from the Oahu Community Correctional Center.

A restraining order has been granted against Gerhardt Konig, the former UPMC doctor accused of trying to kill his wife in Hawaii. The order forbids Gerhardt, who is currently being held on $5 million bail, from being in their home or contacting their children.
