STARKE, Fla. — A former airman convicted of the 1994 killings of his wife and their two children became the ninth person put to death in Florida this year.

Edward Zakrzewski, who 30 years ago used a crowbar and machete to kill his wife and two young children, will be Florida's 10th execution this year.

A death warrant signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis directs that 60-year-old Edward Zakrzewski be executed by lethal injection at 6 p.m. at the Florida State Prison near Starke. Zakrzewski was sentenced to death for using a crowbar, a rope and a machete to murder his wife and two children in 1994 in their Okaloosa County home.
