Elliott reportedly requested his release. This is the second time in three seasons the Cowboys have released Elliott. He tallied four carries for three yards and a touchdown over the last two games for Dallas.

After sustaining a concussion during a 36-33 loss to the Washington Commanders on Dec. 22, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts missed a 41-7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said “we’ll see as the week progresses” when asked on Wednesday if Hurts would be ready to return in Philadelphia’s regular-season finale against the New York Giants.

The second-year wideout should continue to handle a small role in the Cowboys' offense heading into a Week 18 matchup against the Commanders. With nothing to play for, however, it's possible that Dallas' coaching staff may want to get a better look at some of their young talent ahead of the offseason.
