Attorney General Ken Paxton has asked a Texas district court judge to jail former Rep. Beto O’Rourke over his fundraising pitches connected to the state’s intensifying redistricting battle. Paxton’s request accused the Texas Democrat of violating a court order that the judge,

Paxton sued O’Rourke and his political group, Powered by People, last week, arguing that the group was deceptively fundraising for and illegally supporting Texas Democrats’ walkout.

"[H]e still thinks he’s above the law, so I’m working to put him behind bars," the Texas attorney general said.
