NEW YORK − Nearly a week ahead of MLB's July 31 trade deadline, the Yankees addressed one glaring need, at third base. On Friday afternoon, lefty-hitting Ryan McMahon was acquired from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for two Yankees minor league pitching prospects.

The Yankees have had a need for a third baseman since releasing DJ LeMahieu and moving Jazz Chisholm back to the keystone.
