An update is coming today on NASA's Artemis 2 lunar mission to launch four astronauts on a historic journey around the moon.
To fix the problem, NASA has to roll SLS and the stacked Orion spacecraft back to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Weather permitting, teams will begin the rollback process on Tuesday, according to a Sunday update.
NASA made major changes to its Artemis lunar architecture, adding a test flight of lunar landers in Earth orbit while canceling planned upgrades to the SLS.
The Artemis 2 human lunar mission around the moon could be back on track after NASA pulled off a successful fueling test of the SLS rocket.
NASA has changed Artemis III into a 2027 LEO (low earth orbit) rendezvous mission. There is no orbital refueling is needed at all by SpaceX.
