FIFA’s revamped expanded Club World Cup kicks off on Saturday and most fans’ eyes will be firmly fixed on the plethora of soccer superstars competing for up to $125 million, but look closer and you’ll see a team of amateurs on the pitch too.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich thrashed Auckland City FC in Cincinnati, in the United States’ Ohio, on Sunday (June 15, 2025), recording the biggest win in the history of the Club World Cup. Bayern defeated the New Zealand football club 10-0.
Taking place from June 14 to July 13 in the US, FIFA Club World Cup 2025 sees 32 teams pitted against each other in a World Cup-style expanded format.
TQL Stadium was a sea of red on Sunday as the first of four FIFA Club World Cup matches in Cincinnati opened with Bayern Munich taking on Auckland City FC.
