Crews battle brush fire in Inland Empire near Silverwood Lake, forces evacuations - ABC7 Los Angeles
The first fire, which is being called the Lake Fire, is burning near Silverwood Lake, north of Crestline and Lake Arrowhead. At least 478 acres have burned with no containment as of 7 p.m. Saturday.
The area north of Highway 138 and Highway 173, from Summit Valley to Arrowhead Lake roads, is under an evacuation warning. Officials shut down Highway 138 between Old Mill Road and the 15 Freeway.
Warnings also covered north of Highway 138 and 173 from Summit Valley Road to Arrowhead Lake Road. The fire also caused the Silverwood State Recreation Area to close through at least Sunday.
