Going into the season, Luke Kornet’s role within the Boston Celtics’ rotation was unclear. However, more than halfway into the season, Kornet has become a mainstay in the Celtics’ rotation and has proven to be an integral part of Boston’s success.

Luke Kornet was inserted into the starting lineup at the last minute against the Rockets as he made the most of his minutes.

This was a terrific showing for Kornet as he picked up the start with Derrick White (leg) unavailable. Al Horford (toe) was expected to play, but was ultimately a late scratch that went unreported by Boston. Kornet has fared well as a fill-in starter this season, averaging 11.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.3 blocks in six games.

They're the reigning NBA champions, but some members of the Boston Celtics could take a lesson or two on local geography. During a first quarter timeout of last night's game against the Chicago Bulls, the video board at TD Garden showed several members of the Celtics attempting to pronounce the word "Worcester."

Horford (toe) is listed as probable for Friday's game versus the Pelicans, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Horford is expected to return to action Friday after missing Boston's previous two outings due to a left toe sprain.
