Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros Discovery have ended their efforts to start a combined sports streaming service called Venu, the company said on Friday.

Venu Sports, the planned sports-centric streaming service from ESPN (Disney), Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery will be “discontinued,” the companies said in a joint statement on Friday morning. It was a “collective decision,” media members were informed, and is “effective immediately.”

Co-owners ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery pulled the plug on their sports streaming service Venu Sports. They shut down the embattled venture before it had a chance to debut despite the three media entities having invested more than $400 million each, according to Front Office Sports.
