The Texas Senate has passed two bills bringing Christianity into public schools. One bill, passed Tuesday, would require a mandatory period of prayer, while another would put the Ten Commandments into every public schoolroom.

Senate Bill 3, authored by Sen. Charles Perry, bans Delta 8, Delta 9, and all other forms of intoxicating THC, including beverages. It also prohibits the retail sale of any cannabinoid in the state, with the exception of CBD and CBG. Patrick said the bill does not affect Texas' Compassionate Use Program.

When Texas legalized hemp in 2019, it inadvertently approved the sale of hemp-derived consumable products with up to 0.3% THC, the primary psychoactive component in the cannabis plant. The Texas Senate on Wednesday, however, approved a measure to ban the sale of any products containing THC.
