All-Star starter Tarik Skubal won his first game since June and Javier Baez homered, doubled and knocked in four runs as the Detroit Tigers beat the Philadelphia Phillies and ace Zack Wheeler 7-5.

With Tarik Skubal warming up just a few feet above Zack Wheeler, fans milling around the outfield bullpens were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at two Cy Young candidates. Saturday’s Phillies-Tigers game was also a showdown between two of the top pitchers in the National League and American League.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred described his recent confrontation with Phillies star Bryce Harper related to looming labor negotiations as "not all that significant" when asked about the matter Friday in Chicago.

Manfred: “It was an individual picking a particular way to express himself. And I don’t think you need to make more out of that than that."
