Two-time Indian Wells champion Iga Swiatek avenged her shocking Paris Olympics loss to Zheng Qinwen with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the Chinese eighth seed on Thursday to reach the semifinals in the California desert.

Defending champion Iga Swiatek cruised past China's Zheng Qinwen in straight sets to reach the Indian Wells semi-finals. Zheng beat Swiatek on the way to winning gold at last year's Paris Olympics - but was no match for the Pole in their first meeting since.

Iga Swiatek admits she was keen on getting "revenge" against Zheng Qinwen in Indian Wells but also tells her Chinese rival that it was "nothing personal" but only a competitive nature.
