Maricopa County Jail is listed as a site for detainees, but the sheriff's office says there haven't been any discussions with ICE.

Nebraska's ICE detention facility will be "those awaiting deportation and other immigration proceedings," according to a release from Pillen's office.

CoreCivic CEO Damon Hininger will step down after serving as head of the Brentwood-based private prison giant since 2009. The company in an Aug. 18 announcement said President and COO Patrick Swindle will replace Hininger. Swindle will also take Hininger's seat on CoreCivic's board.

The $1.24 billion, soft-sided ICE facility began accepting detainees Aug. 1, and now holds about 1,000 people, says U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar, who toured the facility Monday.
