American Airlines fight 5342 crash victim Grace Maxwell had been returning to university after attending her grandad's funeral.

Grace Maxwell, a Cedarville University student, was one of the 60 passengers on the American Airlines regional passenger jet that collided mid-air with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter above the Potomac River on Wednesday,

Can you imagine losing a parent and seven days later losing a child,” Cedarville University president Thomas White said of student Grace Maxwell’s parent.

Cedarville University says Grace Maxwell, a junior mechanical engineering major, was on the flight from Kansas to Washington when it collided with an Army copter.

If you gave her a single second to talk, she would tell you how much she cared and how her faith impacted her life,” one friend said.

Authorities said all aboard the flight died after the fiery collision with the helicopter broke the aircraft apart and sent it plunging in three sections into the icy Potomac River below. Three U.S. Army service members aboard the helicopter also died,

A 20-year-old Wichita woman was on American Airlines Flight 5342 when it went down in the Potomac River Wednesday night. All 67 people involved in the crash are feared dead. Grace Maxwell was returning to school after visiting her home in Wichita.
