A widespread outage linked to Google Cloud services caused major digital platforms, including Gmail, Spotify, Snapchat, and Discord, to go offline or suffer serious slowdowns on June 12. The disruption left thousands of users around the world without access to some of the most commonly used apps and tools.

Downdetector, which tracks outages based on user reports, recorded over 10,000 incidents related to Google Cloud and more than 44,000 reports for Spotify around 2:46 p.m. ET in the U.S. Additionally, users reported over 4,000 incidents each for Google Meet and Google Search, and more than 8,000 for Discord.

In a late-night disruption that rippled across the internet, several major platforms, including Gmail, Spotify, OpenAI, and smart home services, experienced outages due to a global glitch in Google Cloud's systems.
