A fire that burned over 100 acres in Harnett County southeast of Cameron was fully contained by 6 p.m. Sunday. A web posting by Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue in Moore County reported on the progress.
The fast-moving fire initially threatened several homes Saturday afternoon and destroyed several cars in the Lizzie Jeter Road area off N.C. 27 about two miles southwest of Cameron.
A car crashed into a house Saturday morning in Spout Springs. Spout Springs Fire Rescue, Harnett County EMS and NCSHP were called to the intersection of NC Highway 87 and Buffalo Lake Road.
