Out with the old and in with the new ‘do for Patrick Mahomes. The star Chiefs quarterback, 29, sported a shorter haircut over the weekend at the 4th birthday celebrations of his and Brittany Mahomes’ eldest child, daughter Sterling Skye, as captured in a new Instagram video.

A little over a week since being blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has opted for a fresh new look. Mahomes, who kept his iconic mohawk hairstyle all throughout the 2024 season, switched things up with a shorter cut ahead of the NFL offseason.

Mahomes told AOL in 2019 that the hairstyle was the result of a friendly bet with a buddy when he was younger. They each grew out their hair and wanted to see who would go the longest before finally cutting it. “As I grew it out, I realized that I actually liked it a lot,” Mahomes told AOL Sports. “So, I kept it going.”

For years, Mahomes has sported the same haircut featuring tapered sides with longer curls on top, a look he maintained from his Texas Tech days all the way through his Super Bowl-winning NFL career. However, new photos circulating on social media show that Patrick Mahomes has officially ditched his trademark style.
