The Angels have released outfielder Mickey Moniak, the team announced on Tuesday. The club will owe him only about $484,000 of the $2 million salary he won in arbitration this winter, a source told MLB.

The Los Angeles Angels are entering the 2025 MLB season with nothing to lose. They’re projected to be one of the league’s worst teams and don’t have much help coming from the farm system. But they do have one of the most interesting storylines in baseball: the team is putting 22-year-old relief pitcher Ryan Johnson on its Opening Day roster.

Johnson, drafted last summer, was one of the most prolific college pitchers during his last two seasons at Dallas Baptist.
