Roger Nores, one of the last people to see Liam Payne alive, is reportedly suing the late singer's father for £8.1 million in a defamation lawsuit filed in Florida. The Argentinian businessman claims Geoff Payne made "misleading false and defamatory" statements to police in Buenos Aires investigating the former One Direction star's death.

Nearly three months after Liam Payne ’s death, his friend Roger Nores has reportedly named the singer’s father in a defamation lawsuit.

In a complaint, Nores claims he "did not have a legal duty to Liam" and that his friendship with the musician was misrepresented to an Argentine prosecutor

Liam Payne's friend Roger Nores filed a defamation lawsuit against the late One Direction bandmate's father, Geoff Payne, over remarks he made publicly following his son's death. The legal documents claim Geoff told authorities in Buenos Aires that Roger had "full responsibility" for Liam's care "during this last period when I was not there.

The Argentine businessman isn't just suing Geoff Payne for damaging his reputation, but also for alleging that the British singer was under his care during his final days.
