The Knicks needed bench help. Now, they’re bringing in a hired gun.

Jordan Clarkson agreed to a buyout from the Utah Jazz on Monday, and he intends to sign with the New York Knicks when he clears waivers, multiple media outlets reported on Monday.

Jordan Clarkson is expected to sign with the New York Knicks after he clears free agency waivers, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Monday. Sources had said earlier Monday that Clarkson was finalizing a contract buyout with the Utah Jazz that would make the veteran guard an unrestricted free agent.

The Knicks are set to add a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year in free agency. Jordan Clarkson, the 2021 NBA Sixth Man with the Utah Jazz, will join the Knicks on the veteran’s minimum after clearing waivers with the Jazz, per ESPN.

"Jordan Clarkson is expected to sign with the New York Knicks after he clears free agency waivers, sources tell ESPN," Charania wrote on X. Clarkson will be an excellent bench addition for the Knicks. He's known for being a lethal three-point shooter and scorer when he's on, although he can be streaky.

The New York Knicks are poised to have a major offseason, and resigning one of their main stars could be atop their summer to-do list.
