Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced. Ertz exited the game in the third quarter after taking an ugly hit to the leg from Vikings defensive back Jay Ward.

Daniel Jones, De'Von Achane and Zach Ertz were among the NFL players injured in Week 14. Injured players will be further evaluated this week.

After the contest, Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Ertz is feared to have torn his ACL, which explained his emotional response before being carted off the field. Ertz will undergo additional testing to confirm the injury. If he tore his ACL, Ertz would miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season.

The 31-0 score was bad, but the scene on the sideline was worse. The Washington Commanders fear they just lost a team leader for good.
