A strong U.S. economy and lower interest rates could foster a surge in the number of initial public offerings in 2025, building on the recent momentum, a top executive at the New York Stock Exchange said on Wednesday.

The US companies have started planning for initial public offerings (IPOs) under the new administration, New York Stock Exchange President Lynn Martin revealed in a recent Bloomberg interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

By Manya Saini (Reuters) -LNG exporter Venture Global on Wednesday slashed the valuation it was seeking from its U.S. initial public offering to as much as $65.33 billion, significantly lower than the more than $100 billion it had initially aimed.

The company plans to increase its share offering from 50 million to up to 62 million in its potential New York flotation.

The energy industry is set to stage a comeback in the US initial public offerings market, with sizable deals springing up after the worst year since 2003.
