The man responsible for the truck attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day that killed 14 people visited the city twice before and recorded video of the French Quarter with Meta smart glasses, an FBI official said Sunday.

The New Orleans attacker visited the city twice in the months prior to New Year’s, and used Meta smart glasses to film Bourbon Street and plan out his attack, FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge Lyonel Myrthil said Sunday.

Shamsud-Din Jabbar wore the same Meta smart glasses when he carried out his New Year’s Day attack, but there’s no indication he was recording, authorities said.
