WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Authorities on Saturday asked residents of two Minneapolis suburbs to stay indoors as they searched for a suspect posing as a police officer who shot two Democratic state lawmakers and their spouses in their homes, according to local media reports. The conditions of the victims were not immediately known.

Officers responded just after 1:30 a.m. to Prospect Avenue and East 35th Street on a reported shooting. They found four people in a BP gas station parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a police spokesman.

The Memphis Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Friday afternoon. At 2:19 p.m., officers responded to a shooting on the 4700 block of Winchester Road. A man was located and pronounced dead on the scene.
