LG cemented itself as the king of CES by having so much to show, they didn't even bring one of their new most-anticipated products, the LG UltraGear GX9 series bendable

Electronics manufacturers love to tout “world’s first” in their marketing. Take LG’s newest OLED monitor, for example. It isn’t the first display with 5K resolution, nor the first that can bend from flat to curved.

LG’s latest pre-CES 2025 announcement finds the brand unveiling a trio of premium big-screen OLED gaming monitors — including the world’s first 5K2K-resolution model to support LG’s unique ‘bendable’ technology.

We've seen plenty of 45-inch ultrawide OLED gaming monitors before. But they've all suffered a horribly low 3,440 by 1,440 resolution. Well, not any more. LG has just announced a new 5K2K 45-inch OLED, the LG UltraGear 45GX950A.

The UltraGear 45GX990A from LG can go from a flatscreen to 900R curved monitor. It’s also huge and—likely—hugely expensive.

LG offers a variety of monitors, but the company has just launched what it calls the world's first 5K2K bendable monitor.

LG says the 45-inch monitor can go from completely flat to a 900R curve in seconds. The 900R means that at its biggest curve, the monitor is equal to the outside of a circle with a 90-centimeter radius. Basically, it'll make whatever you're viewing on it much more immersive than the standard flat-screen.

LG made phones, it makes speakers, robots, and elevators among other things. Heck, the company built a combination air purifier and cat bed! However, the Korean tech giant is mostly known for making displays.
