Alabama football went out with a whimper in the first season without Nick Saban manning the sidelines. Kalen DeBoer and the new-look Crimson Tide suffered a disappointing 19-13 defeat at the hands of Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

Kalen DeBoer picked up his 3rd Alabama as a 2-score favorite, matching the same number of such losses during Nick Saban's tenure.

The Alabama Crimson Tide committed three turnovers on consecutive possessions in the first quarter as the Michigan Wolverines raced out to an early lead and held on for a 19-13 victory in the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The last time Alabama was inside the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in 2023, an eerily similar rainstorm caused the Crimson Tide all kinds of headaches. That afternoon, it was South Florida – along with persistent lightning – that terrorized Alabama for 60 minutes before the better team finally prevailed.

The ReliaQuest Bowl did not go according to plan for Alabama, with the Crimson Tide losing to Michigan for the second straight year in a bowl game.
