MGM+ has ordered a new drama series take on the beloved hero Robin Hood. “Robin Hood” hails from writers John Glenn (“SEAL Team,” “Eagle Eye”) and Jonathan English (“Ironclad,” “The Ark”) as well as Lionsgate Television.

Cable and satellite television network MGM+ has greenlit drama Robin Hood from Lionsgate Television, with showrunner John Glenn, producer director Jonathan English and executive producer Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures bringing, per the release, a “contemporary spirit to the classic romantic adventure.”

Sept. 24 (UPI) -- MGM+ is developing the new series Robin Hood. The streaming service said in a press release Tuesday that it has ordered a new drama inspired by the legendary outlaw from folklore.

MGM+ is getting into the Robin Hood business. The network/streamer has ordered a ten-part series based on the English folklore to air in 2025. The series comes from Jonathan English, exec producer of Librarians: The Next Chapter,

The reimagined series from Lionsgate Television about the classic outlaw hero will also be executive produced by Todd Liebermann from Hidden Pictures. Robin Hood will start production in Serbia at PFI Studios in early 2025, before a debut on MGM+ later next year.
