Severe weather hit parts of North Texas Thursday morning as travelers started heading home after Christmas. Thunderstorms prompted several warnings and forced the FAA to issue ground stops at DFW Airport and Love Field.

Another front is headed to North Texas bringing a severe weather threat east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area Saturday morning.

Storms are currently lining up across eastern Texas as low pressure, and its trailing front, push eastward. These storms will push into western parts of Louisiana later this evening, sometime after 7pm,

In a statement to WFAA, Dusti Groskreutz, the president of Reunion Tower, said the drone company informed Reunion Tower that it will not be able to fly the New Year’s Eve show "out of an abundance of caution following a recent incident as they carefully review their processes for future shows."

A North Texas-based company has informed Reunion Tower that it won't be flying drones during the Dallas New Year's Eve bash, less than a week after some of its drones collided and fell from the sky at a holiday show in Florida.

Tuesday night’s planned drone spectacle was canceled after a disastrous performance at a Florida show where several drones plunged into a crowd, leaving a 7-year-old boy injured.
