Friends of Big Bear Valley have announced the names for the mountain's two newest bald eagles — Sunny and Gizmo.

LOS ANGELES - Meet Sunny and Gizmo! The Friends of Big Bear Valley on Wednesday revealed the official names of Jackie and Shadow's two eaglets following a "Chick-Naming Contest" that drew in over 54,000 submissions.

Two baby eagles that recently hatched in California now have names after a group of schoolchildren helped narrow down an abundance of suggestions.

Friends of Big Bear Valley have announced the names for the mountain’s two newest bald eagles. The eaglets hatched in early March and are offspring of Big Bear’s famous bald eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow. Kelvin Kuo is a Sports photo editor at the Los Angeles Times.
