Another atmospheric river is preparing to take aim at the Bay Area and Central California, bringing “impactful rain,” flash flooding and potentially even a light dusting of snow to this week’s forecast as temperatures plummet.

An atmospheric river brought additional rain, strong winds, and flooding to the Bay Area Tuesday, triggering evacuation orders for the area around the Russian River in Sonoma County.

Heavy rain is hitting the Bay Area and coastal areas this week as an atmospheric river moves through Northern California.

An “impressive” atmospheric river is set to deliver numerous rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall across the Bay Area this week.

Heavy precipitation is falling mostly in mountain areas. A flood watch in also in effect for the coast of central California, including the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Valley.
