PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR OPENING DATES. Sited in and around the 1914 Roundhouse and associated infrastructure, the Museum houses a varied collection of locomotives & rolling stock that showcases the development of the railways over 130 years. Artworks, models and interpretive displays help complete the story of rail across the mountains. On Open Days, rides* in a heritage listed Steam Tram or an 1890 carriage hauled by an 1899 steam locomotive or even a diesel from the 1960s are included in admission fees. Onsite cafe and shop complete the picture. Advance online booking is highly recommended to secure your ride* time. *Subject to operational factors e.g. adverse weather, breakdown, crew/rolling stock unavailability etc.
